NEW DESIGNS – Commissioned by Breast Cancer Care to Design Exclusive Tea Towels in time for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

29th October 2017

Breast Cancer Care Pink Tea towel

Designing a new range of homewares for Breast Cancer Care has been an honour. My work will be sold in aid of the charity to raise vital funds for their important work. Please support the work of this charity if you can.

Tea Towel Designs for Breast Cancer Care

The charity approached me to design a new range of tea towels for their giftware collection and it was a commission I just couldn’t not realise. The intention is to sell LOTS to support the charity with its fundraising efforts.

The brief was to create something feminine, simple and pretty. I was really inspired by my own range of homewares, which include striking florals. Consequently, this was the starting point for my new designs. Hydrangeas and snapdragons give the design the right feel and were selected as the flowers of choice for the design. Everyone felt it was right choice to include shades of pink synonymous with the charity’s logo offset with subtle design details too. Butterflies hide amongst the hydrangeas and the pink stitching on the snapdragon tea towel is as important as the flower design itself. Orange accents are evident and create another colour link to the charity logo.

Designed and made in England, these crisp white cotton tea towels are retailing for £9 each or two for £15. Profits will go to Breast Cancer Care – the only specialist UK-wide charity that is providing care, support and information to anyone affected by breast cancer. The charity believes that every person affected by breast cancer should get the best treatment, support and information. This is a mission that guides all of their work.

Working with Breast Cancer Care has been a great experience:

“I wanted to design something beautiful for the charity. Their online shop is aimed at the giftware market and my tea towels make perfect gifts. My aim was to design something simple, but eye catching. By using only one flower per design I was able to weave lots of different pinks into each one. The finished results are something I am very proud of”

Tea Towels will launch in time for Breast Cancer Awareness month in October. They will then be part of the charity’s gift collection and your purchase will make a difference to supporting their work.

NOTE:

Breast Cancer Care merged to become Breast Cancer Now in 2019. Visit www.breastcancernow.org for more information about the work the combined charities’ now do together.
