Ode to Joy: Lily of the Valley Glassware for New Floral Atelier

This summer, the beautiful Georgian town of Stamford welcomed a new floral atelier to the high street – Ode to Joy Flowers. Decorated and hand-finished in time for their grand opening was a stunning, new, Emma Britton Lily of the Valley glassware collection. 

Ode to Joy is a gorgeous floral boutique offering seasonal, ethically sourced blooms, curated art and homeware. Independent design and craftsmanship is really important to them so I was delighted to work with Creative Director, Yana, on this exclusive brief. Timeless and Beautiful

This new Emma Britton line of glassware brings the timeless elegance of Lily of the Valley into a collection featuring Coupes and Vases. Created to elevate any occasion with grace, whilst also celebrating Ode to Joy’s emblematic flower – special to founder, Yana.

‘Working with a fellow creative was a joy. I enjoy creating products and designs that have sentimental value either in origin or in use, so the personal nature of the brief was an honour to design for. Yana’s attention to detail and exquisite styling are exceptional.’ Emma

Working collaboratively, each of the pieces in this debut collection were carefully selected. Shapes chosen to complement the organic, natural beauty of Lily of the Valley inspiring the design. The elegant etched finish amplifies the bell shaped blooms, intricate, yet simple for a luxurious finish.

This glassware is effortlessly beautiful, serene and delicately tactile in use. Making their debut at Ode to Joy’s grand opening, the coupes served champagne to all, complementing the most exquisite canapés courtesy of Keythorpe Hall.

They also looked beautiful set at the table for an event styled by Yana and her team, with beautiful photography by Kamila Nowak.

Design Ethos

‘My first love is flowers. Growing up surrounded by nature, I spent many happy hours playing outdoors, observing the seasons, and collecting flowers, foliage, and other organic treasures from the forests and fields around my home. Ode to Joy is all about ‘the flowers themselves, nature and classic golden rules of art are the sources of inspiration here. No shouting colours, fake flowers, dyed blooms or gothic/boho trends. I truly believe flowers arranged properly are perfect by themselves. I’m only the one to source them carefully and to create the most organic, effortless but impactful design’. Yana
