Design Brief
Modern Homes new showroom kitchen design was about creating a focal point in their display space for customers. A scheme to draw attention and get clients to consider a dramatic modern kitchen for their own home. Known as ‘Tina’s Dark and Moody Corner’, the kitchen gives clients confidence to make bolder choices and needed a splashback to bring all the elements in the room together, and sit behind the hob.
Forest Green handleless fronts, porcelain worktop with gold veins, pulling wooden tones from the acoustic panelling and to finish, our new matt AEG appliances…we were at a loss as what to have as a splashback! It felt like no other material, finish or colour could possibly exist alongside my dark and moody corner. So we went to Emma to create something truly bespoke.

Splashback Design Process
Tina’s Dark and Moody design is a bespoke splashback, but this commission is inspired by my Heritage Luxe Collection. It’s a hand-painted, artisan glass splashback. Taking my Heritage Luxe looks as a starting point, I’ve created this splashback in a whole new colourway. It’s sympathetic to the forest green, handleless cabinetry and other textures in this kitchen design.
Emma designed a glass splashback that reflects our striking display, she perfectly embraced the dark tones and picked up the gold accent colour from the worktop with beautifully incorporated, foiled gold leaves. Emma’s splashback has tied the whole kitchen display together to complete ‘Tina’s Dark & Moody Corner’.
