A HomeGrown Story: Designer-Made Splashbacks and Homeware
HomeGrown is a collection of Emma Britton designer-made splashbacks and homeware capturing the fondness for growing your own. The designs celebrate the joy of reaping what you sow. Inspired by colourful and sculptural, architecturally interesting vegetables, especially those with flamboyant leaves.
A brand new spashback design, ‘Potager Garden’ joined this collection in May 2024 and also includes flowers in the design, as well as Emma’s signature foxgloves. Read on to to find out more….
HomeGrown Collection Inspiration
Emma’s HomeGrown design collection is originally inspired by the striking, sculptural vegetables she found at RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2019. Taking photos and live sketching during the event, she realised her studies as paintings at the studio. Going on to create bold, beautiful designs for splashbacks people love to have in their homes and a series of Gardener’s trays.
In terms of Emma’s design talent, this is very much ‘homegrown’ too – her expertise and skill honed over years right here in the UK. Her splashbacks are all designed at her studio and made-to-measure in England. Emma is proud to be a great British designer who’s now worked on countless projects since launching her business in 2010, bringing the colour and joy of nature into people’s interiors and homes.
New for 2024 – Potager Garden Splashback, Designer-Made
Potager Garden is Emma’s latest, exquisitely painted glass splashback design. Launched at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2024 as a follow up to her original HomeGrown designs. Created to be the focal point in a kitchen or behind a bath, custom made for your project. Taking inspiration from French potager gardens that cleverly mix flowers and vegetables, the result is both bountiful and beautiful.
The sophisticated design centres around a fan trained apricot tree, also peppered with architecturally shaped artichokes, cabbages, sunflowers and Emma’s favourite foxgloves. The grey blue background adds a natural muted tone to interiors. And the framework is evocative of both trellis and tiles – an ideal wall covering.
Particularly suited as a kitchen centre-piece, for maximum effect position Potager Garden behind a range cooker, Belfast sink, or in a mediterranean style bathroom. Also designed for those who like to dream of warmer days.
Designer-Made Splashbacks, Bright Lights
Bright Lights is a vibrant designer-made splashback design by Emma Britton, inspired by the chard variety of the same name.

Kohl Rabi Gardener’s Tray
Featuring a unique pattern with striking Kohl Rabi, this tray is designed with he kitchen gardener in mind. Perfect for carrying food and drinks between the kitchen and garden, these trays are handmade.

Chard Gardener’s Tray
This small rectangular tray with a handy and practical non-slip cork boasts a colourful chard leaf design. Contemporary and abstract in look, this tray design is a burst of colour and joy. Also the perfect complement if you have Emma’s Bright Lights splashback.
A perfect tray for growing plants on the windowsill or enjoy it with tea in the garden, nibbles and a glass of wine.
Cabbage Gardener’s Tray
The perfect drinks tray in a lovely leafy design inspired by luscious cabbages on a rectangular shape. As with the chard tray, it features handy non-slip cork detailing. A great Birthday gift and present for gardeners.
This tray is a great size for posting as a gift, fitting easily through letterboxes.

Emma’s three HomegGrown trays make a lovely set, you’ll never be short of a serve again! All three trays are handmade using responsibly sourced birch veneer, wipe clean, food and heat safe (eco cork feature on chard and cabbage designs).
