Retro Splashbacks – Pineapple Sticks Capsule Collection
‘Pineapple Sticks’ is a capsule collection of patterned glass splashbacks. The designs sum up the idea of entertaining inspired by a collective fondness of the 1950s, 60s and 70s. Suited to today’s diverse kitchen market, when used as focal point these glass splashbacks have a really contemporary feel.
Collection Highlight
Pineapple Sticks Splashback Collection has different designs in it, including ‘Blue Hydrangea’ (above) in a fluted glass finish. But for this feature we’ve picked out the ‘Pineapple’ design as a collection highlight.
‘Pineapple’ is a bold, contemporary choice and the symbol of hospitality and entertaining – so popular in the 50s,60s and 70s and a great design to throw a dinner party around today. If you’re anything like me, you’ll enjoy the evocativeness of ‘pineapple’ as a design too – it just makes me think of the fruit paired with cheese on sticks at children’s parties past, with very happy memories. ‘Pineapple’ will create a focal point in any kitchen and looks stunning in interiors with a retro feel, but is also a stylish look for modern kitchens.
Artfully painted in blues, greens and yellows with a soft blush background, this statement design is really versatile. Try pairing the pineapple splashback with a contemporary raw cast concrete worktop or behind a sink.
Enhancing Your Retro Splashback
Think about retro-inspired fixtures and fittings to complement your splashback and really bring the retro aesthetic alive. Vintage kitchen accessories can work particularly well with Pineapple Sticks Colletion Splashbacks – think retro appliances, such as toasters, mixers and kettles that pick out the colours in your splashback. Under cabinet lighting will help accentuate your splashback design to make it a stand out feature as evening draws in.
Blue Hydrangea from Emma’s Up the garden path collection, also has a really retro feeling to the design. The mustard yellow and nostalgic flowers will bring vintage vibes.
